Her grandfather built the cardboard frame. Her mother helped with the ideas and placement of the more delicate pieces (the gables, for example). But my daughter did the remainder, with a little assistance from her 12 year old sister. Pretty cool. And Maura, thanks for the extra info on the Hershey School.

The Hershey school was originally a residential school (and still is) for boys who had lost their fathers. I know several guys who went there. They started admitting girls sometime in the last 25 years, and they now accept kids who have lost either one or both parents. In addition to being a school, it’s a working farm, with the kids doing a lot of the work. So it’s not the kind of prep school that normally comes to mind.
